So...What's our business plan?

On 31 October 2012, we are about to begin our business project conducted by ourselves with the guidance of Mr. Bernard and Miss Zhen. After the brainstorming process, we had decided to plan the social entrepreneur clinic.

Before we start this business project, we had found the problem statement regarding our plan, which is the low accessibility of poor people to get medical treatment in urban area. Basically we plan this location at Rawang.

Now, let's move on to our PLAN. We had divided the plan into nine blocks. So far, we have already filled up first four building blocks namely, CUSTOMER SEGMENT, VALUE PROPOSITIONS, CHANNELS, CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS.

CUSTOMER SEGMENT

Merely defined as a target, we have the expected customers to be attracted, are divided into two segments: Clients and Users.

Okey, let's start about the users. Users are who we are willing to help for charity. It is not a profit, but is a chance for them to improve their quality of life in accessing the medical treatment. We have planned the users come down to poor people around Rawang district.

About client, our target is the rich and affordable people in this urban area. Why? It is because they are able to give some sponsorship and money to the users so that they would loosen the burden, as well as they would likely associate us.

VALUE PROPOSITION

Well, it is our dream of value proposition which we provide to the users to fulfil their satisfication. The first idea is medical check-up package. It is some sets of medical treatments that are required for some particular patients like pregnant women, old citizens and children. It is similar to buy a set of McDonald food, comprising of burger, French fries and cold drink, reducing the actual total price of this package.

Then, reward is another idea for those who are always visiting the clinic. Depending on the frequency of visiting, the discount of the medical treatment is awarded, only for the registered customers. In addition, birthday party is also provided for the patients in case that they are in ward for a long time.

Our clinic is also provided with television based on ASTRO, secured wi-fi service, mini playground and reading room. Then, we are trying to use rebate card instead of cash for those who forget to bring the money. This card will be associated with other banks.

CHANNELS

So how do we promote the value preposition? Firstly, we introduce it through home visit. We are trying to give some flyers around the neighbourhood in Rawang. This is an initiaition. After that, if the money is sufficient, we make TV advertisement, around in cheapest time for several days. Brochure is spread out around the people who are involved in blood donation, vaccination and frequent annual medical check-up in hospital.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

Relationship with customers is very important to keep the connectivity between them and our products. The first is coupon attached to medical magazine, brochure and registration card. It is an easy attempt to contract the customers. Voucher is given the loyal customers, depending on how much he or she visits the clinic.

By the way, we try to make a gathering among the neighbourhood in starting phase to attract them and also to break ice amongst them. Membership card is also contributed to customers to provide some discount.

Well, we will continue the plan for next time. Thanks for viewing our post.

Inspiration towards Aspiration

This was second lecture handled by Mr. Bernard on 18 October 2012. Well, he is one of founders of FounderLab, a start-up accelerator for student entrepreneurs aged 18-30. The main problem is we are medical students, not linked to business and entrepreneurship. Well, at least we try the best, and not sell 'pisang goreng'.

What do you think about entrepreneurship? Most of us said ,'succeeded', money', 'job', 'risky' and 'bankrupt'. No answers are right or wrong. Mr. Bernard answered this question, it is a change. Well, it makes sense. He or she may change any 'slumdog' situation to the extraordinary success among the poor and unfortunate people. There is no impossible. What's a point about the medical entrepreneurs? How they suceeded?

           Look out to VisionSpring Fondation:

It is what we want to change the situation. A guy (a founder) made a try to train any people around India, Bangladesh and Latin American to become the young entrepreneurs, so that they were constantly selling products of eyeglasses among the poor people. So what the result? The poor people were becoming better as they work better by using the spectacles. At the same time, the entrepreneurs are more competitive and successful. HOW? That is their strategy to approach the customer. So, what are you waiting for, Malaysian?

           That's Situation 1. How about Situation 2?

Okey. That's crucial. A situation about 12 years-old girl. This is a problem, the entrepreneurs make a change among them for a better life from getting HIV infection. Could you imagine how different we live in the world if all people realise that. This is a chance for us to make a change. It is our aspiration we want, from any inspiration we get.

Inspiration towards Aspiration (not sure the grammar is right). So Malaysians, shall we start the entrepreneurship?

As we hatch from the obtuse egg...

PEACE AND MERCIFUL BE UPON YOU,READERS.

This is very first time to make a new blog for business, especially regarding  medicine and clinic entrepreneurship. Initially, it is awkward to try making a business as it is not our course, but it is a time to enrich ourselves with great the business skill and clinical applications, shortly known as a 'medical' entrepreneur.
